Thy Kingdom Come Ministries Wishes You A Happy And Blessed New Year!

The Virtue of Patience

"I waited patiently for the Lord…" Psalm 40:1
If there is a quality and a characteristic that Christians need to make sure we emulate it is that of patience. Often there is not a lot of emphasis on patience, but it is a prerequisite to working with God and receiving His blessings.

When we look at the life of Abraham, we often emphasize the extraordinary faith that he possessed. But rarely do we focus on the patience that he had to exhibit in order to receive the promises of God. Hebrews 6:12 says "...through faith and patience inherit the promises". The scripture goes on to say in reference to Abraham, "And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise" (Hebrews 6:15).

Let us make sure as we submit our requests and supplications unto God that we are likewise cultivating the virtue of patience.

We Are Overcomers

The world has a way of making people feel defeated and hopeless. Tragedy, death, accidents...all of these things tend to make people feel helpless. However, as believers in Christ, we need to understand that in every situation and circumstance, we are Overcomers.

When Jesus was raised from the dead after His death on Calvary's cross, He gained the ultimate victory over sin, death and Satan. Now that we are "in Christ" and the Spirit that raised Him abides in us, there is no situation that we cannot "rise above." Jesus said in the 11th chapter of the Gospel of St. John that "I Am the Resurrection and the Life."

No matter what you're going through, no matter what seems to be weighing you down, know that in Christ the Resurrection, you are an Overcomer.

The Kingdom and Righteousness

The sixth chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew, verse 33, tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. While many believers are in pursuit of the Kingdom, it's not clear if there is an equal pursuit of His Righteousness.

One would think that if a person is seeking first the Kingdom of God that he is automatically seeking His Righteousness. Not necessarily so, because the two are not synonymous. The Kingdom refers to rule and authority; His Righteousness is in reference to application and submission.

The Righteousness of God is the standard of the Kingdom of God. Holiness and Sanctification are the prerequisites to the manifestation of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven. Let us make sure that we are in equal pursuit of His Kingdom as well as His Righteousness.

Complacent Christianity

One of the challenges for many Christians is the fight against the spirit of complacency. When a person is complacent, they begin to get satisfied and settled with where they are.

There's no longer a drive for more, a quest for the best, a stretch beyond their current achievements. This is where a lot of Christians are. We've grown complacent in our current standing in God. But as we prepare to go into the New Year, God is ready to do a New Thing. And with the Newness that God is ready to release in the Earth and in His Church, a complacent spirit will not be tolerated.

It is imperative that we learn to "press" into the Kingdom. There are higher heights, greater goals, that God has established for His people. It is up to us to reach beyond our selves, stretch our limits and press into what God has ordained for us in this New Season. We can no longer have a witness of a Complacent Christianity.

It's Time to Grow Up

One of the standards that God has established for His children is that we move into maturity. God does not want us to stay spiritual babes all of our lives. At some point in our relationship with Christ, we need to grow up.

The reason that you don't see more born-again believers walk in spiritual maturity is because the old saying is true,"There is no growth without pain."

In order to grow up into Christ you have to experience the growing pains of spiritual maturity:

• The pain of self-denial.
• The pain of bearing your cross.
• The pain of crucifying the flesh.
• The pain of loving and forgiving your enemies.

None of these things are easy. But they are the marks of spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus.

As we prepare for the New Year, let us make a commitment to maturity in Christ and recognize that it's time to grow up.

Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

Source: Jesus My Savior
Today we celebrate the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

As is typical in our culture, many people will exchange various gifts with loved ones and friends.

Even though this is a beautiful gesture and definitely reflects the spirit of Christmas, for many of us, it is not our birthday. But it is in fact the day that we celebrate Jesus' Birthday.

So what are you giving Jesus for His Birthday? We know what He has given us: His Life, HIs Blood, His Love, Eternal Life.

Can we give Jesus too much for His Birthday? Why not give Him your heart? Why not give Him the gift of sacrifice?

Give Him the gift of surrender. Give Him the gift of submission and obedience. Give Him the gift of worship and praise. Generally people are asked what do they want for Christmas.

When you ask Jesus what He wants for His Birthday and the Spirit lets you know, give it to Him quickly and say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS! MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Just Jesus

One of the biggest challenges for many people in life is the quest for fulfillment.

For a lot of people, what many deem as "happiness" seems to be an elusive pursuit. People try to find happiness and fulfillment in relationships, in money, through sex and success, drugs, etc.  However, people eventually discover that none of these are the recipe or prescription for happiness and fulfillment in life. The answer quite simply is Jesus.

If a person is going to find happiness, fulfillment, purpose and success in "this" life, it's only going to come through having a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. For many this may seem too simplistic. Yet what people fail to realize, including Christians, is that human beings were made for God. The scripture says that for His pleasure all things were created (Revelation 4:11).

When you try to live life independent of God or not totally dependent upon God, you're operating apart from your created function. For this reason, there's one indispensable component to living a satisfying and fulfilled life, Just Jesus.

Perfect Posture

One of the challenges many people have as they matriculate through life is adopting the right posture.

When we think of the word, posture, we usually think of the way in which a person stands. However, posture can also be defined as the attitude and disposition that people embrace that regulates how they approach situations in life and their interaction with others.

The first order of posture that we need to examine is our posture with God.  We need to ask ourselves such questions as:

• Do you love God with all of your heart?
• Do you trust Him?
• Do you take Him at His Word?
• Are you seeking first His Kingdom and His Righteousness?

While these questions talk about your posture with God, you also have to ask yourself about your posture with others:

• Are you selfish or selfless?
• Are you judgmental or forgiving?
• Do you look to serve or be served?

Jesus says in the fifth chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew for us to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect. Jesus wasn't talking about being sinless, He was talking about the pursuit of Perfect Posture.

Postitioned for Promotion

Most people get excited about the prospect of promotion. Whether it's on their job or in another area of endeavor or achievement, people like to feel that their efforts are being duly rewarded.

When it comes to the economy of the Kingdom of God, we want to understand that the God we serve is a God of promotion. However, in order to receive the promotion of the Kindgom, you have to be properly positioned.

When Jesus received His promotion as the Anointed Son of God, His first responsiblity was to be tested in the wilderness by Satan (Luke 4). Many Christians are going through the "trial of faith" (James 1). In many instances it may feel like God has abandoned you, that He has even let you down. But be not discouraged, nor dismayed, the Father is taking you through simply to position you for promotion.

You Are Not God, So Act Like It

Most people, including non-Christians, would concede to the fact that they are not God. No one in their right mind would claim to be the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and all of humanity. However, even though most us understand psychologically that we are not God, a lot of times, our attitude and posture in life does not reflect this understanding.

When you understand spiritually and dispositionally that you are not God, you understand that you are not in control! Circumstances, situations, problems, challenges, no matter what's going on and even your involvement therein, you understand that you are not in control of your life.

For this reason, when a person genuinely understands that they are not God, they develop a disposition that submits and adheres to the Divine will of God. They are not trying to work things out, they're trusting God to work it out! They're not trying to navigate everything, they're committed to following the Divine direction of the Almighty. In order to do this it takes humility, self-awareness and faith. But life will teach you over and over again that you are not God; so act like it.

It's Time to Go To War

One of the things that we as Christians are called to do is to go to war. Whether we like it or not, we are called to fight. However, the war that we're called to engage in is not a physical fight, it's a Spiritual Battle. Too many Christians have become "absent without leave" in regards to fulfilling our post for the Army of the Lord.

As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we need to understand that the objective of the Kingdom is to advance and take territory in the name of Jesus Christ. With this understanding, we must keep in mind that there is another kingdom, the kingdom of darkness, ruled by the prince of this world, Satan, that is doing everything in its power to stop the advancement of the Kingdom of God. For this reason we are called to fight.

Now is not the time to be laid-back. Now is not the time to sulk in defeat. Now is not the time to sink into depression because of your circumstances. Now is the time to fight for the establishment and rulership of God's Kingdom within you! It's time to Go to War!

Count it All Joy

For some Christians, this season has been an extremely tough one. Hardships, heartaches, ups and downs, it's like you're wondering if the problems and pain will ever end. But be encouraged saints, the Father is still on your side! He is faithful to His promise never to leave you nor forsake you.

So, while God is in the process of working things out in your situation (and believe me saints, He's working it out!) what do you do in the meantime? You count it all joy!

The first chapter of the book of James says to count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations. That means that when it gets rough and you're at your lowest point, don't focus on the adverse circumstances, focus on your victory, focus on your deliverance, focus on your transformation, focus on your breakthrough, focus on the turnaround! And when you do that saints, you're Counting It All Joy.

No More Excuses

As we prepare to enter the New Season that God has ordained for His people, it is imperative that the people of God understand that we are no longer in a place where we can make excuses.

God has a Standard that He is prepared to establish as well as enforce in the church as well as in the earth. We do not serve a God of compromise, we serve a God of Order. Yes He is forgiving, yes He is merciful, yes He is full of grace; but He is also Holy and Righteous.

If you know what God is calling you to do and the Lord has revealed His divine will for your life, it's time to make whatever sacrifices necessary to get in alignment with what He's calling you to do and where He's calling you to be. It's time to make the commiment of "No More Excuses."

Get on the Path

One of the things that the church must recognize during this season is that God is not doing "business as usual." God is ready to do a new thing.

For this reason it is imperative that as children of God, we take the time to examine the course and the path that our lives are on.

Jesus says in the 7th chapter of Matthew, "strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life." There is a path that God has ordained for us as His children and as His people. But it is narrow and it is strait.

We are no longer in a place where we can just do what we want to do and feel how we want to feel. It's time for us to get on the path that God has ordained and prescribed for our lives. If
not, you can miss your Eternal Destiny.

The God Factor

There are times when we allow circumstances and situations in our lives to get us down and discouraged. In reality, a lot of our disappointment is due to our lack of incorporation of what we could call, "The God Factor."

As a child of God and believer in Christ, there is no situation or circumstance that you experience that God has not divinely allowed. That doesn't mean He "caused it" or that He is to blame. It means that because He is Sovereign (in complete and total control) nothing transpires without His divine permission. For this reason, the Christian always has hope.

The scripture says in the 8th chapter of Romans, "And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God and are the called according to His purpose." No matter what is going on in your life God has ordained it for your good!

It's not hopeless, it's not over. God has the answer and He is the answer! All you have to do is exercise your faith and incorporate the God Factor.

Fight the Good Fight

One of the most precious commodities that Christian believers have is their faith. The Bible states very clearly in the11th chapter of Hebrews that without faith it is impossible to please God. Therefore, it's significant to recognize that our faith is something that we have to fight for.

Too many Christians have a "laid-back" approach to their relationship with God. A kind of "go-with-the-flow" mentality. However, if you are going to receive and achieve all that God has ordained for you, you're going to have to fight for it. You're going to have to learn how to "pray without ceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:17). You're going to have to learn how to fast. You're going have to learn how to "deny yourself and carry your cross" (Matthew 16:24).

These are fundamental disciplines that are required if you are going to Fight the Good Fight of Faith (I Timothy 6:12).

The Miraculous Conception

Many people are familiar with the birth of Jesus Christ being described as "The Immaculate Conception." The term, "Immaculate Conception" refers to the fact that Jesus was born of a virgin (Mary) without a human father. We affirm this belief. Yet let us not lose sight of the fact that the birth of Jesus Christ foreshadowed the born-again experience that every believer in Christ has.

When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes and actually "impregnates" the soul of that individual. The Person of Christ has actually been "conceived" within that individual. This is what Christmas is all about, not just the birth of Jesus in the earth, but the birth of Jesus in you! It is a Miraculous Conception!

The Dangers of Christmas

As festive and celebratory as Christmas is, we must also keep in mind that Christmas can also be a dangerous time of the year. How so? Remember that during the Christmas season God wants to "birth" something in and through His people. And when God starts to birthing, Satan starts trying to "kill, steal and destroy"(John 10).

In reading the second chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew, we find God warning Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus, of Herod's attack on the baby Jesus. Don't be surprised saints at the "attacks" that may come your way this Christmas season. Believe it or not, it's part of the Christmas story!

But don't be disappointed, use the wisdom that God gave to Joseph. FOLLOW DIVINE INSTRUCTION! God gave Joseph the warning in a dream and instructed him in terms of exactly what to do to preserve the life of Jesus. Let us make sure that we're doing what God has instructed us to do so that we too may avoid the dangers of Christmas.

The Pursuit of Christmas

Generally when we think about Christmas we think of Celebration; Christmas trees, gifts and presents, Santa Claus and the like. The church has done a good job of keeping the focus on the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ.

However, Christmas is about more than just celebration, it's about a pursuit. When you read the narrative of the Birth of Jesus in the second chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew, we find that the wise men were "seeking" Jesus, the King of the Jews. The wise men were on a pursuit.

What does God have you "pursuing" this Christmas season? What does He have you seeking that will lead you to the King of kings and the Lord of lords? Let us pray that we have the sensitivity this Season  to embark upon the Pursuit of Christmas.

Making Room for Jesus

As we enter the Christmas Season and the celebration of the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, we read the narrative of His birth found in the second chapter of the Gospel of St. Luke. Verse 7 reads:

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manager: because there was no rom for them in the inn.

No room means no capacity, no space, no availability.

During this Christmas Season there is something that God wants to birth in and through every born-again believer in Christ. But the question is, do you have the room, do you have the capacity for God to birth His Son in you? Do you have the physical capacity, the mental capacity, the emotional capacity, the relational capacity? Do you have the "internal space" for Christ and His Divine will to be birthed through you? Or does your commentary read like those in the text, there was no room in the inn?
