Generally when we think about Christmas we think of Celebration; Christmas trees, gifts and presents, Santa Claus and the like. The church has done a good job of keeping the focus on the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ.However, Christmas is about more than just celebration, it's about a pursuit. When you read the narrative of the Birth of Jesus in the second chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew, we find that the wise men were "seeking" Jesus, the King of the Jews. The wise men were on a pursuit.
What does God have you "pursuing" this Christmas season? What does He have you seeking that will lead you to the King of kings and the Lord of lords? Let us pray that we have the sensitivity this Season to embark upon the Pursuit of Christmas.
