There is a distinct difference between being a child of God and a son of God. In this Season and in the Kingdom Move that The Father is about to release into the earth, God is calling for sons (Romans 8). The reference to the sons of God is gender neutral. So whether you are male or female, in Christ Jesus, we are all called to walk as spiritual sons of God (Galatians 3). (However, there is a reference to "sons and daughters" of God in 2Corinthians 6). This call is very important, because there are too many believers that are still operating in spiritual immaturity and childishness (Hebrews 5). God is ready to work with a mature church, that is at least striving for full maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4). If you are serious about being all that God has called you to be, then your aspiration should be to operate and walk in the calling of Divine Sonship (John 1). In order to fully answer this call, you must therefore submit to The Discipline of Sonship.
One of the things I'm learning about people in general and Christians in particular, is that we don't mind being taught, but we hate being corrected. People love obtaining knowledge, but dislike it when they're told they're wrong. Let me say on the front end, if you have a challenge with correction, then you're going to have a difficult time walking in Divine Sonship. God's means of Discipline is correcting you. The Father's not trying to flatter us or stroke our egos, He wants to conform us to the Image of His Son (Romans 8). In order to do this, He has to flat out tell you where you're wrong. If you're going to be all that God is calling you to be, check your ego at the door and your hyper-sensitivity, and let The Father work on and work out that which you didn't even know needed to be addressed and rectified. And by the way, He won't always do it "Himself", He'll use someone who's just as flawed as you to be the instrument of correction. And you have to sit there and take it, knowing they're just as messed up as you are! Such is the Discipline of Sonship.
Another area for which we must be willing to submit if we are going to answer the call to Divine Sonship, is that we must be willing to endure Satanic Suffering. First off, many Christians that I have talked to over the years don't get "excited" about the prospect of suffering. Saints, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to renew us in this area of our minds and thinking. Even though it's not natural (it's Supernatural), we need to start getting excited about the prospect and the privilege of suffering for the name of Christ and for the advancement of His Kingdom. The bible says that Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered (Hebrews 5). And when the apostles suffered for His Name's sake, they went away rejoicing (Acts 5). God uses Satan to hinder us and harass us to develop the Godly character for which He has ordained to be established within us. Which means that, a lot of times, when it gets hard, yes it may be Satanically orchestrated, but it may also be Divinely Sponsored. Ask Job if that's not the case (The Book of Job). And Jesus's Satanic attack in the wilderness was sponsored by God (Luke 4). It was all a part of His Development. Even the Only Begotten Son of God had to endure The Discipline of Sonship.
