The Scripture says in the 33rd Psalm that "blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." What many people fail to realize about America is that this nation was founded by God. Even with all of its flaws in regards to treatment of Native Americans and slavery of those with African descent, this nation was still founded on biblical principles and the Christian faith.
If one studies closely the history of this nation, this assessment is indisputable. However, in over 200 years (and really 400 if you start with the 17th century), this nation has strayed far away from the Christian foundation for which God intended this nation to be built upon. Therefore, as I've stated earlier, God is going to shake America. However, in the midst of and prior to the manifestation of the Divine Shaking, we need to ask God to bless America.
We need to ask God to bless the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Even though President Obama is an extremely intelligent man, his spiritual acumen (demonstrated by the policies of his Administration) is not the greatest. President Obama is largely responsible for the establishment of the national legalization of same-sex marriage. This is an abomination before God. We need to pray that God will bless the President that the Father will grant him a spirit of conviction and a spirit of repentance. The President needs to repent for how he's used his leadership to facilitate this deception within America that same-sex marriage is ok. It is not! We need to pray that God will bless the President to repent.
We need to ask God to bless the churches of America. There are not enough churches taking a significant stand for the Will and the Word of God. God is not pleased with a lukewarm church (Revelation 3). God is looking for a people that are on fire for Him! We need to pray that God will bless His church with a spirit of boldness. That we will stand in the face of the enemy and boldly declare "thus saith the Lord." This may entail persecution. This may require suffering. But that's okay, because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world (1John 4).
Lastly, we need to pray that God will bless the oncoming generation. God is raising up a generation that will be outspoken and stand for Him. They won't be shackled by the constraints and bureaucracy of religion. Their focus will be the Kingdom of God. They'll have capacity for the supernatural. They'll have a hunger for miracles, signs and wonders. They'll look to be fully mature saints in Christ (Ephesians 4). We need to pray that God will bless this "chosen generation" that the enemy will not stifle them and that the Lord will have His way with our young people.
Saints, it's time. It's time for us to get on our knees and bow our hearts in prayer, that the Father will have mercy on the soul of this nation. Judgment is coming swiftly. The shaking is inevitable. Let's make sure that we are interceding that God will bless America.
