Paid In Full

Many times you'll hear people make the statement, "You have to pay for your sins." The scripture does support this statement when it says, "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). However, for the believer in Christ, this is not totally true. The Christian doesn't have to "pay for your sins" because Jesus paid the total price for our sins when He shed His blood on the Cross. Our sins have been Paid In Full!

When this point is made in regards to Christians not having to pay for their sins, a lot of times Christians misinterpret this to mean that they then have a license to sin. This is incorrect. Romans 6: 1 also states, "What shall we say then, shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? God forbid.". So the fact that Jesus paid for our sins is not a license to sin, it's a provision for the sin that we inevitably commit.

Don't try to be right with God based upon your own efforts to be good or moral. Rest in the Grace of Christ and be assured that all of your sins are Paid In Full!
