Who's Waiting on Who?

If you've been a Christian or in the church for any length of time, then you've either heard a message or a sermon regarding the topic of "Wait on the Lord". Waiting on the Lord is a significant part of our relationship with God. The bible says in the 37th Psalm, "Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land". The 40th chapter of Isaiah says, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength". So the scriptures show the significance and importance of Waiting on the Lord.

But the question that I would like to raise today is, Who's Waiting on Who? We often give the impression that we as believers are sitting patiently, waiting for the Lord to move or act on our behalf. We even have songs like, "He may not come when you want Him, but He's always right on time". Even though the song is correct, it gives the impression that our desire is for the Lord to show up sooner than He regularly does. However, I'm not quite sure that we as children of God are actually the ones doing the waiting. I'm inclined to believe that The Father is actually waiting on us. I believe that God is ready, and to be honest with you has actually "been" ready, to release His Kingdom Agenda on the earth on behalf of His chosen people. The only problem is that for many of us, we're not ready. Many of us still are not prepared to receive and to do all that God is calling us to for this next Season. God could move on without us, but that's not God. God is EXTREMELY Patient and very Long-Suffering. So He will wait. But He won't wait forever. There is a Set Time where God will execute and implement His Kingdom Agenda for this Season.

The scripture says in 2Peter the third chapter, "The Lord is...long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance". The scripture also says in the third chapter of 1Peter, "when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah". So we may want to re-shape our perspective and really take a look at Who's Waiting on Who? Are we waiting on God or is God waiting on us? Let us make sure that we are doing all that we can to be ready when the King of Kings comes during this hour to establish His Kingdom on behalf of The Father. I can assure you, there won't be any time to "get ready" when that Great and Momentous Day comes.
