Belief in God v.s Fear of God

In order to have a relationship with God, one must first exercise faith in Jesus Christ. One must believe in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, and the atoning and redemptive work of His Blood for the forgiveness of our sins. According to Romans chapter 10, if one believes this, then one will be saved. There are millions of people around the world, and thousands upon thousands here in America that believe on Jesus Christ and confess Him as their personal Lord and Savior. But what we must acknowledge today is that this level of belief is not sufficient for a Manifestation of the Kingdom of God. If it were, then every generation would experience a Move of God that would usher in the Kingdom within their respective generation. History shows us, that this is not the case. So, how do we have so many churches, and so many "Christians" and yet so little Kingdom Power?

Part of the problem saints is not the fact that we don't believe, but the fact we do not Fear. What I'm discovering more and more is that people do not possess a sufficient amount of Fear of the Lord. It's not that they don't believe in Him, particularly in the pardon of their sins. But when it comes to complete submission and obedience to the Divine Will of God for their lives, the problem is not belief, the problem is fear. When we talk about the "Fear of the Lord", we're not talking about intimidation, or being scared like in a scary movie or something. We're talking about Reverence, Honor, Submission and Obedience. Jesus said it very clearly, "if you love me you will keep my commandments" (John 14). The reason many Christians are not obeying God is because the love that we do have is not being mixed with a sufficient amount of Fear of the Lord. This saints is a problem. Without a proper Fear of the Lord, you cannot experience a Supernatural Move of God. It's just not going to happen.

When you Fear the Lord versus just believing in Him for the forgiveness of your sins, you take His commandments very seriously. When God gives a Word, when the Lord gives a Commandment, it's not a debate. It's not up for discussion. It's done. Now there are some areas of disobedience in our lives that are due to spiritual immaturity (Galatians 3, Romans 7). No one expects a 5 year old child to have the cognitive skills of a 15 year old teenager. The child simply has to grow up. But there are some things that God has told us to do that are within our ability to do them. We just don't want to do them! And this is a problem with God. Those areas that are a struggle or a wrestle, God will give us His Grace and Strength to accomplish those things. But even when you see your inadequacy to fulfill what God is telling you to do, you still set your mind to do it. You're not going back and forth on whether it should be done.

At the end of the day saints, we have to make a decision. Is it going to be God's way or the highway? We have to resolve within our spirits that if God has instructed and commanded us to do something, that's it, it's done. Without this type of mind-set and Fear of the Lord, He won't be able to trust us to do specifically and explicitly His Will. Yes, you can believe in God for Salvation. But to experience a Supernatural Move of God, we must possess The Fear of the Lord.
