The Witness of Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we want to make sure that we celebrate and acknowledge the witness and the ministry of this great American and servant of God.

Dr. King was not a perfect man. He had flaws and issues just like every other human being whose name is not Jesus the Christ. However, one thing that Dr. King made sure he did as a public servant and national leader in this country is take a stand. He took a stand on Civil Rights. He took a stand on Voting Rights. He took a stand on Economic Rights and economic justice in this country. He took a stand on the Vietnam War.

A lot of the things for which Dr. King took a stand were not always popular. He was not always "celebrated" as he is most of the time since his death in 1968. But as a man of God, he took a stand for what he knew was right.

My prayer saints is that we all look within our hearts and prepare ourselves to take the necessary stands for what we know represents the Divine Will of God for our lives and for this nation. That is the witness of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
